Much has happened since my last post. My new plan is to be more update and not be a slacker when it comes to writing this wee screed. Summer flew by,our grandson Alex spent the month of July with us. It was a hectic, tiring time but well worth it,we enjoyed our time with Alex. We did all his favourite things, Vancouver Aquarium,White Rock Beach, camping, family BBQs. Good times. He is a delightful little boy.
In September we took a 7 day cruise to Alaska which was quite enjoyable, spectacular scenery, clear blue sunny skies. Our trip started with a train trip from Bellingham on the Amtrak, so much fun.The trains travels along the shoreline. It's not a high speed but when in vacation mode who wants high speed!
According to the ship's crew(Norwegian Pearl there was only had 6 days of sunshine the entire Alaskan season, therefore we were lucky. Lots of photos were taken, I intend to link this with my Flickr account. As you know my husband became ill on the ship, the last few days were very stressful for both of us. The rest of September and October was taken up with camping. Our week in Osoyoos was a good week of relaxation. We spent a day touring around the area, drove up to Pentiction. A highlight was the day spent at the Desert Model Railroad Display. An impressive European HO scale display. The owner's wife has painted over 18,000 buildings. This is a well maintained display. The owner has been doing model railroading since 1981.We stayed at a more than adequate RV Park which had wireless, full hookups and an indoor heated pool. We used the pool every day. I started jogging again at the Park. The workouts were old school, sweats and a old tee-shirt, sure felt good.I liked the crunch of my shoes on gravel, the sound of the wind.
We purchased 40 lbs of apples of which 20 lbs were given away. Hey an apple a day.
